Description

The Douro Valley in northern Portugal is famous for its terraced vineyards and production of Port wine. During the harvest season in September and October, the valley bustles with activity as grapes are hand-picked from the steep slopes along the Douro River.

Porto, Portugal's second-largest city and the gateway to the Douro Valley, is alive with excitement during harvest time. Winemakers transport freshly harvested grapes from the valley to the city's Port wine lodges, offering visitors the chance to taste the latest vintages and explore historic wine cellars.

Madeira, an archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, is known for its fortified wines and stunning landscapes. During the late summer and early fall harvest season, visitors to Madeira can witness traditional grape cultivation and harvesting methods, as well as participate in harvest festivals and wine tasting events showcasing the island's rich wine heritage.
